Nomadic Wax’s Zero Plastica’s New Single “GE8″
Nomadic Wax’s Zero Plastica releases his new single “GE8″ to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the tragedy that took place during the 27th Group of 8 summit in Genoa, Italy in July of 2001.
Although the meeting took place in a “Red Zone,” preventing protesters from speaking with the delegates, non-violent protests turned bloody as the police’s attempts at controlling the crowd made matters worse. About 100 policeman and 400+ protesters were injured in the process.
The situation worsened when a 20-year-old activist from Genoa named Carlo Giuliani was shot and killed by a police officer for throwing a fire extinguisher at a squad car.
The officer, Mario Placanica, was acquitted of any charges after a judge’s -incredibly sketchy – ruling that Placanica fired in the air in self-defense, and the bullet ricocheted off a flying stone and hit Giuliani.
