Two Very Different MJ Covers: Lloyd x Chilean Student Protesters
It’s the second anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death, and for days, fans have been celebrating the iconic pop star’s life by blasting his hits, donning glittery gloves and red, military-style blazers, and, of course, performing covers of his work.
In perhaps one of the most original protests the world has ever seen hundreds of Chilean students in Santiago dressed as the living dead and performed Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” to demand higher education reform. The “Chile Thriller Protest” is the latest in the string of rallies, some of which even called for the resignation of the Chilean Minister of Education.
This time, they decided to use the zombie theme to represent their belief that their country’s education system is dying.

R&B crooner, Lloyd, also paid homage to Jackson. His cover of MJ’s “Rock With You” is a little dated. Apparently, he performed in LA during Mother’s Day weekend as a part of Diddy’s Coming Home tour.
But Lloyd’s such a perfect fit to perform a Michael Jackson cover. The near-perfect falsetto, the hair…we had to post the video…
Shouts to VIBE.com and Reuters for the videos.
