Car Dealer Alleges Police Misconduct (with Video)

A 32-year-old car dealer is suing the city of Carrollton in federal court, alleging civil rights violations and saying that a police officer used excessive force against him a year ago as he tried to deliver a car.

Also named in the lawsuit is David Tatom, a Carrollton police officer.

Shomari B. Staten of Carrollton finally obtained the police car dashboard video of the February 2009 incident after a Dallas County judge ordered that Carrollton release the video in November. Staten had requested the video under the state’s open records act, but Carrollton city officials refused.

It’s pretty interesting that the mainstream media has changed the way it looks at this recently dont you think? Now it seems that it is discussed thoroughly and more in depth. Overall though I’m looking for a change.
