Stay logged in Welcome to PC Review! We do have active directory set up, but the server isn't configured as a DNS server (its really slow, so we want to have it doing as little as possible) 0 Report • #12 tool6913ca July 21, 2009 at 08:44:12 Ok, I'll try replacing the NIC... Going to hit Best Buy and get a new NIC with proper Win2k3 drivers to see if that's the issue. navigate here

If you do, you need DNS locally for AD to work properly. The IT person who was here before me isn't with the company anymore, and I'm pretty new to this stuff - learning as I go. I followed the steps above, restarted the server, and couldn't connect to anything from the server. It is the outside NIC and can't be pinged. Please read the entire Post carefully, as it's very easy to not understand what I'm trying to tell you here ^^ Here are the details that the "ipod touch" (NO Internet) his comment is here Ran an ipconfig and it was exactly the same as the previous one I posted here (except the NIC model).
If they are the same you have to change one of them. I can't beleive it's actually installed with no DNS server available to host it. With > > > no connection to the network. I've tried switching ethernet cables and even using a different port on our switch, but no dice. And worse, I bought two of > these PCs and both behave the same way.
You need to know this. >Did you talk to the tech that installed the modem about your issues? I have two NICS (RealTek 3119s on the Mobo). The only way to get the connection back is with a server reboot.Should I try installing a new network card? Then bring up the LAN and try again. ( I am assuming you are on broadband) Ohter than that my enthusiasm to help is only exceeded by my ignorance.
