You can use a virtual XP on a W10 computer to run any incompatible software. TechSpot is a registered trademark. Trying to install with Windows XP Pro on my newly built system. During the installation, from the cd, it tells me "setup cannot copy file [filename]". hmm This error here has to do with with UDMA and IDE controllers pointing to your CD-ROM, It looks like if you go into your Bios on reboot(hold F2 ) key
Does this mean that SATA could have a problem functioning well with the LG which is connected through IDE as Master and no other peripherals on the IDE? Alberto. The wrong Virtual memory setting can affect the installation after formatting the partition??? Can your PC run 64 bit XP? An aging CD drive.2.

I didn't have a chance to burn Memtest86 into a cdrom as yet, but I will do that soon, and run it on the faulty memory module. the windows10 install worked fine but 1st I do not have a license and 2nd the devices for sound, usb wintv und usb wireless were not recognised and slimdrivers did not around 20 of them. I also have LG lightscribe optical drive, will try later with Asus only and let you guys know, but my question is this how do you know if RAM is good
Trying to install with Windows XP Pro on my newly built system. The newly added RAM was bad and a 2nd replacement 128 MB of RAM worked like a farkin charm. Windows 10 will need certain drivers for USB etc, but the motherboard will have to be fairly modern for it to work fully. I called Crucial Customer Service and explained the problem. It is free.
